The IDS Bridge Designer™ Software sets new standards for ease of use. We are totally focused on Concrete and Composite Bridge Design and Engineering, and have many years of experience as designers of both complex bridges and Structural Analysis software to assist in this important task. Our applications are built to conform to international standards, including AASHTO LRFD. Every software application that we create is designed with the following in mind:
Time-Dependent Analysis of Concrete Segmental Bridges
Free yourself from tedious manual computations. Create an accurate time-dependent simulation with detailed unlimited construction sequence.
Quickly evaluate deflections and stress redistributions in accordance with your specific design code, and refine your design of structures that will withstand the effect of time.
Cable-Stayed Bridge Non-Linear Analysis
Tackle complex cable-stay bridge construction sequence – stressing, de-stressing or re-stressing stays by force or elongation.
BD2 handles the variations of cable stiffness due to sags automatically, as well as the effect of girder and pylon deformation on stay forces.
Graphical Display of Analysis Results
Quickly generate, display and save graphical reports of specific analysis results of interest.
Check horizontal curvature of 3D model with convenient visualization features, custom or standard 3D views with optional partial transparency and export drawings to your firm’s CAD environment. For seasoned BD2 users as well as designers new to BD2, Import and Export capabilities will provide full compatibility with other BD2 versions and other software products.
Customizable Service Module
Customization in the Bridge Designer™ software allows the engineers to define Design Standard Parameters for your organization as well as Service Code specifics such as Live Loads and Stress Combinations.
The Bridge Designer™ Service Module was developed to check bridge structures under different service codes. It provides a flexible user defined live load generator, as well as a service code definition language (macro instructions).
This user-driven environment lets you use the US AASHTO LRFD code as well as redefine service codes as complex as the British Standards 5400 or the IRC6 Indian Bridge Design Code.
High Productivity
With IDS Software, you get an effective, complete solution at a fraction of the cost of conventional analysis software. This translates into high productivity. In fact, most Bridge Designer™ Software users achieve significant productivity in much shorter time periods. Using a few key parameters such as girder type, construction type and span lengths, Bridge Designer’s Assistant Wizard automatically generates a complete 3D bridge model including construction stages.
Ease of Use
IDS Software is the most comprehensive platform for effectively analyzing and designing post-tensioned concrete bridges under construction and in service. With Bridge Designer™ Software you will find all the tools for intelligent structural modeling and analysis in one place: automatic 2D or 3D model creation, construction stages with reporting graphical tools means organizations can concentrate on analysis, and design decision-making conducive to bridge design optimization and performance.
Bridge Designer™ is easy to learn and use, which means it delivers high adoption rates within organizations, increasing our client’s productivity and profitability.
Innovative Advanced Features
A user-friendly interface focuses on all important design characteristics of a bridge project. Material properties, including long term behavior – parametric cross-section geometry and structure segmentation as well as automatic 3D post-tensioning layout definition regardless of analysis choice (2D or 3D). Other advanced features include Differential Creep and Shrinkage in Composite sections, and non-linear Temperature Gradients. Bridge Designer helps you make the right design decisions based on close adherence to code and company acquired know-how.
Performance
With an optimized solution engine, Bridge Designer offers a state-of-the-art structural analysis and design for bridge structures. Full integration with the Graphical Interface with fast model generation and screen-based graphical display of construction stages and “in-service” results provides a powerful, elegant and performant design environment for maximum performance.
Compliant with International Standards
Bridge Designer™ implements the FIB Concrete Code for Bridges as a default standard design code. In addition, the American AASHTO code (SLD or LRFD) is the Standard service code together with a customizable service environment allowing multiple other service codes such as the British BS5400 or the Indian IRC6.
